Scenario designers guide

Bien le bonjour,

J'ai reçu aujourd'hui le guide du concepteur de scénars de Pitman, et je le conseille à tous. Sous une présentation quelque peu aride (il y a beaucoup de texte et peu d'images), les 7 chapitres qui le composent sont intéressants et se lisent facilement (en anglais bien sûr...).

Ceux qui sont tentés mais n'ont jamais osé franchir le pas de la conception de scénarios devraient le lui commander aussitôt, ils y trouveront de bons exemples et de très nombreux conseils.

3 annexes, une sur les conditions de victoire et leur formulation, une autre sur le comment et le pourquoi des SSR et en annexe C un exemple de conception et de développement de scénarios, qu'il fournit dans son opuscule.

Pour résumer, une prose utile surtout pour ceux qui n'ont jamais conçu de scénars et quelque chose de sympa à lire pour tous, avec de bonnes idées et conseils, et à un prix très correct vu le travail réalisé (20 dollars plus le port je crois).

I regret to note that eagle-eyed Steve Pleva discovered a "less than" that should have been a "greater than" in one of the scenarios, Java 2, "Unlikely Allies."

The following scenario errata has already been incorporated into the Scenario Designers Guide, so anybody who purchases the guide now need not worry about it. However, the earliest purchasers of the guide should note the following errata:

JAVA2. Unlikely Allies.

Indonesian Order of Battle. Setup instructions should read "Set up anywhere in playing area, at least 3 hexes from all board edges."

In other words, the Indonesians have to give the Brits and Indians some space.
